-| WAND GAME - LUCK ROOM |-

Yes, this is the most frustrating piece of heart to get. It was meant that way, but somewhere in the zelda classic updates something changed about it. During testing in the original version of the game in v2.10 of zelda classic, it rarely took me more than 15 minutes to get it. But in the version of the quest that the let's plays used the game may have been broken. It's working again now, and with better odds since v1.00.

First, this room worked a little different in zelda classic v2.10. It . There are a few tricks, and a secret (which I'm not sure anybody found until a few years ago).

First, you shouldn't really try this until the end. You definitely want the 1/2 magic upgrade, the red ring, and the mirror shield, but none of them are necessary. It just won't be as easy. Especially since the room after the luck room, you need to kill some enemies quickly.

Rapid fire does not work. I'm not sure what it is about rapid fire, but it really sours the odds. You'll burn through your magic immediately, and be lucky to get one through the opening corridor. It's best to shoot one at a time and follow the next step.

Dancing helps. Each step you take after launching a volley of magic actually does change the odds. It's weird how it almost seems like you can coax it over to the left. But it's not like you can control it, when it follows your movements it's only by chance. What dancing does is keep it from getting in the same old pattern. When it's spinning based on time alone (when you stand still), it tends to get stuck in some patterns, even occasionally getting stuck bouncing back and forth between two or three mirrors endlessly. When you move and change the spin speed (the animation speed doesn't change), it gets out of those patterns much more easily.

Be careful, because there's one more room in this minigame. The room after the luck room requires killing some difficult enemies quickly. If you're not well equipped, it might be a challenge.

Secret. I'm glad somebody finally found it a few years ago. There's one easy way to get through that room, no hassle involved. First, you need the level 3 sword, which is the first one that lets you shoot a sword beam. Now you see where this is going. Also be sure to have a potion (even if you don't have the letter, one place still sells them). Get to the luck room, and use the potion so you have full health. Shoot your sword beam at the to left corner. It might take a second sword beam, but it will get you through every time.
